SOME TEENAGERS EXPERIENCES IN THE SERRA

SOME TEENAGERS EXPERIENCES IN THE SERRA

REFORESTATING DAY

The other day my classmates and I went to plant trees in Andratx. We had to go to plant trees because this summer a lot of trees were burned.
When we arrived to the mountains, the views were shocking because all the trees were burned and all the mountain was black
The fire happened because a man lit a small fire and he didn´t extinguish it completely.

We planted a lot of small trees and I think that people should plant tto, because
it´s for a cause.

In the future these mountains will have trees again and I hope that our children will be able to see green mountains again

ONE DAY IN ANDRATX

My school organized an excursion to reforest Sa Trapa, because this summer there was a big fire in Andratx. It was horrible ! Many trees were burned and so we decided to help it, going to reforest.
When we arrived, a group of evirenmentalists explained how to plant trees. They said: Frist you have to dig a hole to fit the tree, then, you have to put this. The trees were pines. Then, you must put the remaining land in the hole. Finally, you have to put a grind around the pine so this way it won´t fall or break. Then, if you waht, you can put some stones to fix the tree.

I and my friend could sow seven or eight pines. It was a beautiful experience. I remenber it was very cold and rainy, but I´m very happy for being able to do so. When I go to Andratx, I´ll see the mountains and all the trees that have grown thanks to our help. Also, I have to say that the landscape was horrible because everything was dead and burned, everything was black, but with these new trees everything will be happier.

I didn´t go to the excirsion to reforestate the Serra de Tramuntana., but I would like to go a day and help with the trees. I think it is a good idea to do that and learn to reforestate.
The Serra de Tramuntana is very long and important, not only for Majorcan people, but alos for the world and the UNESCO.
I think that we have also to be careful with the trees which are alive and try to never make fire and if we see someone smoking or burning some plants, tell them to look after the fire, because we can burn the whole mountain or the whole forest, wirth just one cigarrette , like this summer happened , and this is very sad-

TWO FAMOUS TOURISTS IN THE SERRA

Frederic Chopin was a famous piano composuer from Poland. He started to study the piano at the age of four and at eight he already offerer a concert in Warsaw. His first published work dates from 1817. He gave his first concerts in 1829 and in 1831 he started to live in Paris. In spite of this he was always loyal to Poland. He greatly influenced other composers such as Franz Liszt and Claude Debussy.
He come to Majorca with his lover George Sand, a French writer whose real name was Aurore Dupin, becuause of his had a bad health searching the good weather .
They rented a house in Establiments, but when the owners knew that Chopin was ill , they asked him to leave the house.
Chopin and George Sand moved to a room at the Cartoixa de Valldemossa, There the couple spent a few months enjoying the life and the weather of Majorca. Chopin composed a few preludes an a Polonaise.
George Sand wrote her famous book “ Un hiver a Majorque” , where she criticizes Majorca and its society, she compared Majorca with uncivilized people of the Polynesians Islands.
What matter to the Majorcans , news coming out about politics or if the pig is the only issue that concerns them “
